We Won! Aligent Takes Out the BigCommerce Connected Commerce Award 2026.
🏆 Some wins feel good. This one feels earned.
We're thrilled to announce that Aligent has been recognised with the BigCommerce Connected Commerce Award 2026, in partnership with our incredible collaborators at Born and our client, Laser Clinics Group.
This award isn't just a trophy on the shelf. It's recognition of what happens when the right team tackles the right problem with real conviction and builds something that genuinely changes how people experience a brand.

The Problem That Needed Solving
Laser Clinics Group is one of the world's largest cosmetic clinic networks - a brand built on clinical precision. But their digital experience didn't match that standard.
For most customers, buying a treatment package and booking an appointment is one decision. Digitally, it was two disconnected systems, re-entered details, and friction where there should have been flow. Customers were doing the hard work of piecing together a journey the platform should have owned. Marketers had no flexibility. Security patches and version upgrades were consuming valuable budget.
A cosmetic refresh wouldn't cut it. This needed a full-stack transformation.
The Solution We Built Together
Working in close partnership with Born (UX and design) and Laser Clinics, our team at Aligent designed and delivered a comprehensive replatform on BigCommerce, connecting every layer of the commerce stack into a unified, customer-first experience.
At the technical heart of the project: a purpose-built middleware layer connecting BigCommerce to Zenoti, Laser Clinics' clinic management and booking platform. This integration is what made the impossible possible. For the first time, a customer can browse treatments, purchase a package, and book their appointment in one seamless flow, without ever feeling clunkiness or wrestling with disjointed systems..
Real-time, bidirectional data exchange. Appointment availability, customer profiles including highly sensitive personal information, pricing, booking confirmations, rescheduling, and invoices all flow seamlessly and securely between platforms.
We also built out a sophisticated composable stack around it:
- A headless PWA (Catalyst) frontend delivering speed, stability, and a seamless cross-device experience
- CMS via Storyblok for marketing flexibility without engineering dependency
- CDP via Snowflake and Insider for unified customer data and personalisation
- Payments via Stripe, Adyen, and Zippay
- Franchise management via Clinic Podio and CDP Insider
- Performance marketing connections via Awin and Google Tag Manager
Every component connected. Every data point informing the next step.

What Makes This Connected Commerce
The Connected Commerce Award recognises brands that unify multiple components of the commerce stack to create measurable, seamless experiences. This project is exactly that.
The platform launched across 4 geographies in just 6 weeks, serving over 200 clinics globally.Â
It handles clinical complexity that most commerce platforms never encounter, including matching the right room and equipment to each patient based on individual factors. And it does all of this while delivering excellent accessibility scores and improved mobile performance.
Buying and booking are, finally and properly, one.
This Is What Great Collaboration Looks Like
This win belongs to a passionate and highly skilled team.
To our partners at Born, your UX rigour, your design craft, and your commitment to grounding every decision in real customer research made this project what it is, and it was a privilege to build on it.
To the team at Laser Clinics Group - thank you for trusting us with something this important. You came to us knowing the problem ran deep, and you gave us the partnership and the courage to solve it properly.
And to our partners at BigCommerce, this is what the platform can do in the right hands. The flexibility, the composability, and the ecosystem that BigCommerce provides made this architecture possible. We're proud to be a partner that pushes the boundaries of what this platform can achieve.
What's Next
This project is a foundation, not a finish line. The composable architecture Aligent and Born built for Laser Clinics is designed to scale, serving new markets, new capabilities, and provide the agility for continued iteration as the business evolves.
For us at Aligent, this award reinforces what we've always believed: that commerce transformation done well isn't about technology for its own sake. It's about deeply understanding a business model, building the right architecture to support it, and executing with the precision and care the work deserves.
We're incredibly proud of what this team built. And we're just getting started.
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this project — at Aligent, Born, Laser Clinics Group, and BigCommerce. This one's for all of you.
